While in University, I discovered that I am really drawn to uncovering insights, using data to answer questions and help decision making. Back then I was doing a Business degree, and the subject that allowed me to do the above was Marekt Research. I also enjoyed teaching, and helping others understand complex concepts, so with these two facts in mind my career path seemed clear. I decided to do a PHD in Market Research and becopme a University lecturer. But the university career turned out to be too theoretical and didn’t offer much exposure to hands on data analysis, so it led me to persue a role in Market Intelligence. That is when I discovered Tableau and felt like a breath of fresh air to be able to create interactive dashboards with such ease as opposed to spending days building reports in Excel.
I joined the Data School at the end of 2019 and realised that it’s exactly where I need to be in order to master my skills in data analysis. Since then I worked on helping companies upskill their employees in Tableau, Alteryx and PowerBI. I also found it really enjoyable to develop dashboards and visualisations that make insight discovery very accessible and that encourage data-driven decision making. As time passed, I got more involved in advanced data transformation processes as well and worked on reducing or eliminating repetitive work by using automation and freeing up valuable time that employees can spend on other tasks.
This year, I moved into a new role where I help Data School consultants with technical questions and offer them support while working at clients. Combining this way my desire to help others develop, with my passion for hands on solution development.
