Data Success Lead

I started my career in Paris, working in various Higher Education institutions, managing events and marketing campaigns. My journey took an unexpected turn when a casual conversation led me to one of the fastest growing tech companies, in London.

During a family wedding in France in the summer of 2014, I mentioned my plan to relocate to London. My wife's cousin invited me to join his company, a tech company which was growing at a very past pace. This company was called Tableau (which I initially thought was a French company). Although I had no technical background and believed that data 'was not for me’, I downloaded Tableau the following Monday, played around with it, and loved its user-friendly interface.

I soon found a position on the Tableau Careers page that seemed perfect for me: building and scaling their Academic Programs in EMEA. This was an ideal match for my marketing background in Higher Education.

Over five rewarding years at Tableau, I introduced Data Visualisation and Tableau to over 200,000 students and educators. During this time, I ocassionally met members of The Information Lab who frequently spoke of the company's unique culture, which I aspired to be a part of one day.

In 2019, my wife and I took a seven-month career break to travel across South East Asia which was soul refreshing. Upon returning to the UK, I briefly worked as a Partner Marketing Manager for a tech company specialising in Identity and Access Management. However, the siren call of data was too strong to resist.

In 2021, I moved to Jaguar Land Rover's Data Office as a Data Adoption and Enablement Manager, where I aimed to democratise data. I created a Data 101 course, trained over 5000 users, and championed Tableau adoption. By the time I left, I had established a community of over 400 data champions and contributed to a 140% increase in active Tableau users at JLR.

As of July 2023, I'm thrilled to have joined The Information Lab as a Data Success Lead. In less than a decade, my perspective on data has completely transformed. Once doubtful about its role in my career, I now focus on helping organisations implement data-driven strategies and realise the true value of data, just as I have experienced on my own journey...

Kicking Goals, Embracing Adventures, and Cherishing Family – Life's Perfect Hat-trick!

When I'm not working, you'll often find me indulging in my love for sports, especially football. Just like many kids, I once dreamed of becoming a professional football player. I even got the chance to represent my country, Mauritius, in national tournaments across Madagascar, South Africa, and France from U15 to U21.

My love for exploration doesn't stop at sports. I've always been fascinated by different cultures and places, and meeting my wife has only amplified this interest. Her zest for travel is truly infectious. Together, we've made memories in many European countries, Central America, South East Asia, and Australia.

The adventure took a new turn in 2022 when I became a father to a lovely little champ, Enzo. Parenting sure comes with its challenges, but it's been an incredible journey that I wouldn't trade for anything. I'm loving every bit of being a dad and a family man!
