Sasha Hanna

Account Manager

My journey in analytics began in 2015 when I joined the first cohort of the Data School. I was fortunate to learn about data analysis, data visualization, and consulting techniques from well-experienced Tableau and Alteryx experts. Although I had some knowledge of statistics and R programming from my studies in life sciences, I felt like I'd barely scratched the surface.

As I began working with clients, I came to appreciate the technologies we used—they were fun, intuitive, and user-friendly. I enjoyed assisting customers in transitioning their legacy reporting from Excel (among other tools) and simplifying their tasks through automation. It was rewarding to witness a client discovering new insights for the first time. I also had the opportunity to participate in various training sessions that took me to clients across Europe and even India.

My passion for teaching led me back to the education sector. I had previously collaborated with universities during my consultancy stint with Jisc and HESA. Four years later, I found myself managing accounts. While my primary focus has been on Higher Education, my portfolio also includes organisations in the Health and Life Sciences sector.

Body and mind

My regular sports activity is bouldering, which I do 2-3 times a week. It's beneficial for both the body and mind, and it's enjoyable to do with a couple of friends. Despite not completely overcoming my fear of heights, I feel like I am making significant progress.

I also enjoy hiking and diving. Though I don't get many opportunities to practice, I try to incorporate them into my travels to make the experiences more memorable. My last hike was a climb to Adam's Peak in Sri Lanka, where I ascended 5000 steps to reach the temple at the top, just in time for a beautiful sunrise.

Cooking is another relaxing activity for me. When asked about my favourite dish to prepare, I struggle to answer because what I enjoy best is trying out new recipes.
