Luke Donovan

Consultant

I graduated University in 2017 with a degree in Zoology from the University of Southampton. I spent 3 years learning about the importance of data and how it can help our natural world. That's where my love for data started and I could see just how important it could be. I spent a couple of years post-uni embarking in the world of data and that's when I found The Information Lab. I've specialised in learning both Tableau and Alteryx whilst picking up some other technologies along the way. I've been extremely lucky that during my tenure here I've been exposed to a variety of industries helping businesses solve all kinds of data problems.

I spend a lot of my time now working in the sports industry, helping clubs and governing bodies leverage actionable insight promptly. From building ingestion pipelines to presenting data in a clean fashion, my passion is creating and revolutionising data solutions for people.

Gotta catch 'em all...

I also love exploring the natural world and visiting new countries. My favourite place that I've been to so far is the National Geographic wildlife lodge on the Kinabatangan river in Borneo. Wherever I go I try to take my camera with me as I enjoy some wildlife photography. When I'm not working with data or travelling, I'm completely nerding out by collecting vintage Pokémon cards. My prize possession is a completed original base set. Other collections, though not complete (yet) include Jungle, Fossil and Team Rocket sets. When I'm not collecting cards I'm embarking in nuzlocke runs of the Pokémon games (platinum a personal favourite).
