Emma Whyte

Head of People

I'd discovered Tableau at a previous research role and fell in love with its ease of use and ability to get in the 'flow' of data discovery. I took myself to Tableau Conference in San Diego 2013 - the 6th ever Tableau Conference. I met up with Craig, Tom and Robin from The Information Lab, and well the rest is history.

At The Information Lab I've enjoyed a varied career path. Initially as a Tableau and Alteryx consultant, I quickly became interested in servers and infrastructure too. I became a certified Tableau trainer and enjoyed sharing my love of data, Tableau and Alteryx with customers all over Europe. I then set up our Customer Success team and helped enterprise customers scale and enable their data teams.

Since 2021 I've become Head of People and joined the leadership team. My team finds, welcomes, supports and develops the people of The Information Lab. If my journey, or any of our teams has interested you, we're always looking for curious and engaging people to join our Data School.

Embrace the Outdoors

Outside of work I am family orientated and also have a love of the outdoors and adventure. I've recently taken up triathlons after a love affair with running and cycling for many years.

In my down time you'll find me swimming in rivers & lakes, cycling the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside with my local Tri squad, or running around my local neighbourhood while my son's racing off on his own bike.
