Craig Bloodworth

Chief Technology Officer

I joined The Information Lab back in 2011 as employee number two. My career has been dedicated to data, starting at a consultancy in York hacking together Excel workbooks into full suites of reports. After discovering Tableau I decided to dedicate my time to this amazing software.

Over the past decade I've helped companies adopt the software they need to make sense of their data by specialising in some of the more complex areas of Tableau and Alteryx. My belief to contribute back to the community by building public tools, integrations and solutions lead to me being named in the first ever group of Tableau Visionaries and am now in the Tableau Visionary Hall of Fame.

As Chief Technology Officer I'm responsible for all backend systems and infrastructure at The Information Lab as well as software and web development. I'm also a member of the overall management and leadership teams.

A space for contemplation

I try to take a family first approach to life making sure the computer is left behind each day and I get to wind down cooking dinners and baking bread. My love of sourdough started during a trip to Wales in 2016, I've somehow managed to keep a starter going for over seven years which is an achievement given I can't keep a plant alive for more than a couple of weeks.

Since early 2021 I have also found a love for running. It gives me a space in my day to be alone with my thoughts and contemplate on the day ahead. From hating any form of long distance running at school to running 5 km once or twice a year I now regularly run 10K in training and am on course to cover a total of 1000 km in 2023.
