The Challenge
Our client needed a thorough HR analysis that integrated data from several sources, including manual entries and external platforms. This analysis was intended for the C-Suite to enhance decision-making and strategic planning across crucial areas such as hiring, wellness, current employees, locations, attrition, and diversity. Previously, the client relied on Excel for tracking this information. Consequently, with data dispersed across multiple locations and the absence of a centralised monitoring system, manually updating the various Excel sheets was highly inefficient and time-consuming.
Our Solution
The Information Lab team created a dynamic dashboard suite that highlighted each key point of interest, offering a detailed and cohesive overview of the information. First, we performed data preparation using Alteryx, which included timeline creation by filling in missing dates and extraction from existing Excel sheets. Next, utilising Tableau’s advanced capabilities, we built seven interactive dashboards that brought together previously scattered metrics into a unified structure and resolved inconsistencies between manual and automated platform inputs. This comprehensive approach enabled the client to gain an in-depth view of their workforce, identify key trends, and highlight areas for improvement.
The Impact
The HR analysis provided actionable insights into key metrics such as hiring efficiency, wellness program effectiveness, and diversity improvements. When put into production, the centralised dashboards would enable the C-suite to save approximately 10 hours per week previously spent on manual updates.
